I am finally back to blogging and could not be more excited because I'm heading to Spain. I am traveling to Sevilla for three months and currently sitting in the airport enjoying a glass of Spanish wine (newfound perk of being 21 that will quickly disappear when I cross international waters. In my orientation packet my program suggested that we write a letter to our host country before we go, and I figured now was as good a time as any to do so.
So Dear Sevilla,
I have been planning for you for almost a year, and sitting here in the airport this entire opportunity still feels so surreal. I am so excited to meet you, your people, and to to immerse myself completely in your culture. I am hoping for adventure, to try new things, to be placed outside of my comfort zone (I totally already am as I sit here nervous as can be.) Here's to trying new foods, experiences, to traveling around Europe, to new friends and the best three months of my life. I hope you change me in the best ways possible, and that I come home in December with a newfound view on life and the world.
Adios U.S., Sevilla I cannot wait to meet you!
And a special thanks to my parents for making this all possible. Thank you for pursuing me to follow my dreams and for teaching me the importance of travel.
